Acting is Charles' passion, he believes that:

"The responsibility of the actor is to be part of the story and to inhabit the role."

Charles is available to audition as an actor, you can see his details on Casting Call Pro and also on Spotlight (click on the links to check him out).

Charles has never been far from the stage having graduated from Drama School in 2002. Within his first year of becoming a professional actor he was performing in London's West End in 'Mask of a thousand eyes'. Since then he has performed across the globe in a multitude of roles from Shakespeare to Ibsen, Pinter to Ayckbourn.

Since arriving in Edinburgh in 2011 Charles has continued to perform on both stage and screen, including a run of 'Lingua Frank' at the Edinburgh Playhouse in 2012, and has written and performed in further productions with his own company, Scratch the Surface.

In 2015 Charles was able to demonstrate his flexibility on screen; first NHK Japan cast him as German Physicist Werner Heisenberg which was closely followed by Smithsonian Channel USA casting him as the President of the USA's father, John Kennedy.

In 2016 you will be able to see him perform in 'Eugene & Elvis', a biographical one man story at venue 444, Silk, at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Charles considers himself to be a character actor though he feels just as comfortable playing lead roles. In 2003 he performed in Ibsen's 'Peer Gynt' at the Across Theatre, London, and recalls having only one line. Contrast this witCharlesh the his role as Captain Robert Falcon Scott in 2010 (pictured) where his character never moves from the stage. This production was for New Zealand based company Body in Space. It is his desire to help others to develop their craft as actors and as such he has taken masterclasses to many institutions across Edinburgh and the Lothians over the last few years.
